Here are a selection of images from the hospital in Benin. This hospital works night and day to try and rid the area of Benin of some of the diseases it is regularly faced with. Although they may not be able to eradicate them completely there is a chance they can get them under control. In the Western world, we search for information about lower cholesterol on everydayhealth.com, this is just one thing we try to control. In Africa however the health issues are meningitis, cholera, HIV and malnutrition. It is essential that people suffering from any of these see a doctor and get medical help. These are not the sort of things you can get advice about purely by looking online.
Benin is still an undeveloped country. As a country it depends entirely on subsistence agriculture, regional trade and cotton production. The people living there are not in the position to afford health care whenever they need it. So the work that the Better Africa Foundation does in the hospital in Benin is really beneficial and without a doubt necessary.
