THE PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE PROPOSED SECOND EDITION OF THE BAF YOUTH FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The press conference started with a few attendants at about 12.15 noon with the opening prayers said by Mr. Godwin Akoyon, a member of the project technical committee.

Members of the high table were introduced accordingly;

The speech of the regional director BAF highlighted the journey of the BAF so far from 1996 under the Medical Aid for Africa. The speech introduced the president/CEO of the organization as alumni of the BBHS.

Sports Education and activities were introduced as the BAF initiative in intervening into the problems of youth involvement in criminal activities, thereby promoting profitable use of time among young people.

The regional director further called on the media, conglomerates, philanthropies, and the general public to partner with the BAF in making the project a success.

Mr. Omotayo Aina gave a recap of the 2007 championship while the director public relation spoke on the second edition of the championship coming up in April 2009.

The honorable commissioner applauded the BAF bold initiatives and also recounted how the journey of the government‘s approval started mid 2008.

The chairman of the day Chief Moses A. Makinde who also came all the way from Lagos challenged the government to take more responsibility in youth development and also support bodies like the BAF for the establishment of youth friendly centers.

The regional Manager and the project media partner responded to questions from the press for over 30 minutes.

Closing remarks was made by Mr. Adeleye of the project technical committee, and the closing prayers was said by a member of the Oyo State sports council from the high table.

Light refreshment was served and the meeting came to a close at about 1.55 pm while the press members extended into comprehensive interview with the regional Manager.
